asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will bring up to date the information provided in the reply of 9 June 1980, Official Report, c. 26–28, to the hon. Member for Grimsby concerning investment and other figures as a percentage of gross national product.

certain television companies for advertising, Her Majesty's Government will place no further Government; advertisements on commercial television until prices are reduced.

No. Television advertising is used when its cost is justified by the need for visual impact to build up high coverage of a target audience over a short period and after its cost in relation to other media has been carefully considered.
