§ Mr. Gummer[pursuant to his reply, 7 March 1983, c. 322–23]: The Government are determined to use resources as effectively as possible, and to that end the Health and Safety Executive has reduced the number of inspectors employed in Scotland, but has so reorganised the work of the inspectorate that resources are concentrated on areas of greatest priority.
