What steps they take to check whether local authorities and other public bodies put up site notices acknowledging European Community aid to capital projects.
§ Lord BellwinThe Department's guidance notices already ask all bodies receiving ERDF aid for major infrastructure projects to put up notice boards on the site, except where it is not practicable, as in the case of sewers. We also send individual requests each year to bodies which have received such grants. I believe that co-operation is generally very good and it would be a duplication of effort for the department to carry out its own checks.
