§ Mr. Ernie Ross
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what has been the spending on education per pupil in Tayside and Scotland in real terms for each of the past three years, taking 1975 expenditure to Scotland as equal to 100.

§ Mr. Alexander Fletcher
Net school expenditure per full-time equivalent pupil, taking the 1976–77 figure as 100, was as follows:

Tayside 100 107 107 113

Scotland 100 109 109 †113
