§ Mr. Lambieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in the Official Report an analysis by sub-programme within programme 15 (Scotland) showing (a) the percentage of expenditure in 1983–84 which is directly covered by cash limits and (b) the percentage shortfall overshooting of cash limits for 1981–82; and what is the latest estimate for 1982–83.
§ Mr. YoungerThe percentage of expenditure in 1983–84 in each sub-programme which is directly covered by cash limits is given in table 5 of "Public Expenditure to 1985–86: A commentary on the Scotand Programme", copies of which are in the Library.
The percentage underspend/overspend for cash limits in 1981–82 was given in "Cash Limits 1981–82 Provisional Outturn" (Cmnd. 8615): no analysis by sub-programme is possible since several cash limits include expenditure in more than one sub-programme. I am not in a position to give an estimate for 1982–83.
