asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the Government still consider the incorporation of the territories of the Baltic states into the Soviet Union to be unlawful; and if he will make a statement.

Successive British Governments have recognisedde facto the incorporation of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania into the Soviet Union, but have not recognised this incorporation de jure. There has been no change in this policy.
