§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, further to the answer of 2 December 1982, Official Report, c. 268, concerning reduced rate national insurance contributions, whether he can give an estimate of the proportion, if possible broken down between working wives and widows, of the beneficiaries earning more than £3,000 a year.
§ Mr. RossiThe latest provisional figures indicate that 35 per cent. of married women and 39 per cent. of widows paying reduced rate contributions in 1980–81 earned more than £3,000 a year.
