§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will meet the Banff and Buchan district council at an early date to discuss the effect on employment availability in their areas of the loss of development area status by Grampian regional council.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherI have discussed this question with the council's representatives on two occasions within the past year, and my right hon. Friend and I are therefore fully informed of the council's views. Following last year's review we have made it clear that we do not contemplate any further changes in the assisted areas within the lifetime of this Parliament.
