Whether they will list all the exemptions from the tachograph legislation; and whether these exemptions are sufficient.

The requirements to install and use tachographs are contained in Regulation (EC) 1463/70. Article 3 of that regulation exempts some vehicles, including those listed in Article 4 of Regulation (EC) 543/69. Copies of both these regulations are available in the Library.

Her Majesty's Government are seeking to improve the scope and clarity of the exemptions in a review being conducted by the European Commission. If the noble Lord has a particular concern. perhaps he would write to me.
