§ 50. Mr. Lennox-Boydasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what plans he has to accelerate the transfer of technology from the laboratory to the market place through the setting up of science parks.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerAs our manifesto made clear, improving the transfer of technology from research into industry is an objective to which the Government attach great importance. I hope to introduce a number of measures to accelerate this process. We intend shortly to make a statement on the initiative to bring higher education and industry closer together which my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State for Industry said he was considering in the debate on Budget resolutions on 21 March.
