§ Mr. HurdNo, but private companies wishing to offer rewards may seek the advice of the police. Liaison in such circumstances is conducted by a senior police officer. The advice offered will depend on the circumstances of a particular crime, bearing in mind the need to avoid offers of reward which might serve to encourage crime, or reduce the chance of bringing the perpetrators of the crime to justice.
