§ Mr. Murphyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take steps to increase the discounts available to purchasers exercising their rights under the right-to-buy legislation.
§ Mr. GowYes. The Housing and Building Control Bill, introduced on 23 June, includes, at clause 3, a provision to extend the right-to-buy discount scale, from the present maximum of 50 per cent. for 20 or more years' tenancy to 60 per cent. for 30 or more years' tenancy.
