§ Mr. Murphyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will review the United Kingdom overseas aid programme so as to ensure that funds are spent as effectively as possible.
§ Mr. RaisonI do not consider that a full-scale review is appropriate but we are active in seeking to ensure that our aid is effective. We have increased our evaluations of completed projects and programmes and are adjusting our operations and procedures to take account of lessons learnt.
