HC Deb 29 July 1983 vol 46 c685W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what percentage of persons in each local authority throughout the United Kingdom who are eligible for 5p concessionary television licences receive them;

(2) how many persons living in special accommodation are eligible for 5p concessionary television licences in each local authority throughout the United Kingdom;

(3) what is the total number of 5p concessionary television licences issued by each local authority in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Hurd

About 530,000 people were covered by old persons' home licences in force in the United Kingdom on 30 June 1983; information about the local authority area in which these television licences were issued is not readily available. Nor is information available on the number of people eligible for a 5p concessionary licence.
