asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) in how many and in what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department the application was supported by a certificate of fair rent, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, a private individual or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(2) how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department resulted from applications made by (a) the landlord, (b) the tenant, (c) the landlord and the tenant jointly and (d) the local authority, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, an individual or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(3) how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department involved dwellings in each of the following age categories: (a) pre-1919, (b) 1919 to 1944, (c) 1945 to 1964, (d) post-1964 and (e) new, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, a private individual or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England. respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(4) how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department involved one, two, three, four, five, or six or more habitable rooms, respectively, excluding bathrooms, WCs and rooms used exclusively for cooking, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, a private individual, or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982.

(5) how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department involved (a) the sole use of all amenities, (b) some amenities shared, none lacked, and (c) at least one amenity lacked, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, a private individual or any other, for England, Greater, London and the rest of England, respectively for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(6) how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department involved (a) a house or bungalow, (b) a purpose-built flat or maisonette, (c) a converted flat or maisonette, (d) rooms, and (e) any other specified types, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, a private individual or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(7) how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department involved tenancies where the landlord was (a) a registered housing association, (b) a non-registered housing association, (c) a company, (d) a private individual or individuals, and (e) any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(8) in how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department an inspection was carried out prior to the registration, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a nonregistered housing association, a company, a private individual or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982;

(9) in how many and what proportion of rent registrations notified by rent officers to his Department, a consultation was held (a) at the request of both landlord and tenant, (b) at the request of the landlord only, (c) at the request of the tenant only and (d) at the rent officer's discretion; and in how many cases and in what proportion of cases no consultation was held, where the landlord was a registered housing association, a non-registered housing association, a company, a private individual or any other, for England, Greater London and the rest of England, respectively, for each of the years 1966 to 1982.
