Mr. Rowlands

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what percentage of awards under the eighth round of licensing awards in the North sea has been given (a) to British and (b) to non-British companies, as defined in the first report from the Public Accounts Committee in Session 1971–72, having regard to the proportional holding of each British and non-British company in each awarded licence; what are the comparable figures for operatorships; and what are the comparable figures for previous licensing rounds.
