§ Mr. John PattenPrevious military service does not generally confer exemption from the statutory National Health Service hospital charges to overseas visitors, and neither does, previous United Kingdom citizenship. However, a United Kingdom war disability pensioner would be fully exempt.
An overseas visitor drawing a United Kingdom retirement or other United Kingdom state pension who has had 10 years continuous service as a crown servant (including service in Her Majesty's forces) would be exempt if the need for treatment arose during the visit.
