HC Deb 29 July 1983 vol 46 c668W
Ms. Harman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether the alternative provision to the Camberwell resettlement unit will include on-site medical services, nursing care and full resettlement support immediately from the date of planned closure.

Dr. Boyson

The Camberwell resettlement unit replacement scheme involves the provision in small hostels, of 985 hostel bedspaces, approximately 500 of which should be available by the time Camberwell closes at the end of 1985. Some hostels will provide direct access short-term accommodation and resettlement support, others will offer medium to low level care and support, and some will supply a high level of care and support. The health needs of the residents will be met by the local primary health care services.
