(2) how many of the sheltered workshops in the Northern health and social services board area are located in the area covered by the Antrim, North constituency; and how many places they provide.
§ Mr. Chris PattenThe sheltered workshops which are provided by the Northern health and social services board cater mainly for mentally handicapped people and are known as adult training centres. There are seven such facilities providing a total of 359 places. Two of these, with 100 places, are located in the Antrim and Ballymena unit of management. In addition, an industrial therapy unit is provided for the mentally ill at Holywell hospital. The numbers attending are not held centrally.
