Mr. Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will publish the details of the reduction in the resources available to the British Steel Corporation following the Chancellor of the Exchequer's statement on 7 July; and how it will affect the timing and completion of the new hot strip mill at Port Talbot.
§ Mr. Butcher[pursuant to his reply, 21 July 1983, c. 201]: My right hon. Friend has already given details of revised external financing limits for the nationalised industries. The effect of the reduction on BSC' s operations is for the management of the corporation to decide, but I understand that priority will be given to the Port Talbot project.
