What are the sources of information used by the Secretary of State and the Official Receiver to influence whether to make an application under the Insolvency Act 1976.

Applications under Section 9 of the Insolvency Act 1976 are made by the Secretary of State or Official Receivers on the basis of information obtained from the directors, creditors, liquidators and receivers or from the books of account and other papers of the companies concerned.
