§ 22. Mr. Maplesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he proposes to introduce legislation as a result of the report of the Director General of Fair Trading on home improvements.
§ Mr. FletcherI warmly welcome the Director General's report, which will be of considerable value to the public. Most of its recommendations do not require legislation for their implementation by those to whom they are addressed. I am arranging for careful study of the recommendations addressed to the Government, including those which would require legislation.
