§ Ms. Clare Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether young people who have completed their training under the youth training scheme and subsequently become unemployed will be able to take immediate advantage of the 21-hour concession or whether they will have to register as unemployed for three months before doing so.
§ Dr. BoysonThe Supplementary Benefit (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1983, which were laid before the House on 14 July, will provide for time spent on the youth training scheme, and the youth opportunities programme, from the point at which the school leaver would otherwise have become entitled to supplementary benefit to count towards the three months' qualifying period for the 21-hour rule.
