§ Mr. Wallerasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will amend the regulations applying to motor cycle helmets, so as to require the date of manufacture to be stamped on all helmets sold to the public.
§ Mrs. ChalkerMotor cycle helmets offered for sale must be approved to the appropriate British standards—BS 2495 or BS 5361— called for in regulations. The BSI committee responsible for the standards has already discussed the possibility of date-marking helmets, and this will be explored further.
