§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress is being made to eliminate measles through measures to vaccinate infants against the disease.
§ Mr. John PattenIn 1982 uptake of measels vaccination among infants in England was 58 per cent. This was the highest level reached since introduction of a measles immunisation programme in 1968 and reflected an upward trend in recent years. If this trend is sustained, there should be a steady reduction in incidence of the disease.
