§ 47. Mr. Hardyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will amend the qualifications governing payment of the guardian's allowance so that relatives may qualify where one parent is deceased and the other is physically incapable of caring for the child dependant.
§ Mr. NewtonWe have no plans to change the legislation on guardian's allowance. But, depending upon the nature of the physical incapacity, it may be possible to assist in other ways. If the hon. Member has a particular case in mind, I shall gladly consider what help may be afforded to the people concerned, if he supplies me with the details.
