§ Mr. Boyesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, in view of the information given in the answer of 13 July, Official Report, c. 367, that 59 out of the 104 solvent abuse deaths in 1981 and 1982 were of persons under 17 years, he will introduce a programme to eliminate solvent sniffing in schools.
§ Mr. DunnMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services has consulted a wide range of interests, including representatives of teachers and local authorities, about further action which the Government might take and hopes to make a statement later this year. A number of local education authorities have already distributed guidance to schools on this matter.
