§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he has received about difficulties facing holders of British overseas citizens passports; which countries are involved; and whether he proposes to take any action as a result.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe Canadian Government have introduced legislation prohibiting the granting of visas to those, such as British overseas citizens and others, whose passports do not show that the holder has the right to enter the country of the passport-issuing authority. We shall be discussing the matter with the Canadian Government and re-assuring them that the United Kingdom immigration336W status of those now holding British overseas citizenship has not changed as a result of the British Nationality Act 1981.
