§ Mr. Giles ShawThe draft European Community directive would require member states to ensure that emissions of sulphur dioxide and other pollutants from fixed industrial plant do not exceed certain limits. These limits are not specified in the draft directive and it is not 255W yet clear what impact the directive might have on particular types of industrial plant. Discussions between member states and the Commission on the draft directive are at an early stage.
