§ The Prime MinisterIn 1982 the Select Committee of the House recommended that
reviews be conducted by the Review Body on Top Salaries once during the fourth year of each Parliament with a view to that Parliament taking a decision on the recommendation".The Government accepted that recommendation and asked the review body to undertake a comprehensive review in time for this year's consideration of parliamentary pay and allowances.
