§ Mr. MellorWe are currently considering whether the United Kingdom should participate in international agreements enabling prisoners to be transferred to serve their sentences in their home countries. Enabling legislation would be required to make this possible. It would not be appropriate to approach Thailand before we have announced our policy on the matter of prisoner repatriation generally. We hope to announce our conclusions shortly.
