30W
§ Mr. Parkinson[pursuant to his reply, 14 July 1983, c. 430]: The Department does not use the classification "internal security technology". Certain items of paramilitary police equipment, which are listed in schedule I part II group 1 of the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1981 may not be exported without a licence. An export licence would be refused for any equipment which in the opinion of the Government is likely to be used for internal repression. No detailed statistical break-down is available on exports of technology (that is, production know-how).
