HC Deb 12 July 1983 vol 45 cc294-5W
Mr. Peter Bruinvels

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the firms which have established themselves, or are in the process of establishing themselves, in enterprise zones in Scotland; and how many employees each firm has, or will have, in the zones.

Mr. Allan Stewart

Clydebank is the only enterprise zone which has so far been designated in Scotland. The second report of the enterprise zone monitoring study which was published in April shows that in the period up to 31 December 1982, 116 firms providing a total of 1,102 jobs had established themselves in the zone.

Information about employment in individual firms was gathered in confidence and the figures about jobs in each firm cannot be released.

A note of the firms which had established themselves in the Clydebank zone is included in the list of firms for all the first group of zones in the United Kingdom which is being sent to my hon. Friend by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment.
