§ Mr. MellorQuarterly information can be derived from successive Home Office statistical bulletins (table 2 of Issues 1/83 and 6/83) copies of which are in the Library of the House. During the first quarter of 1983 6 people were detained under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Acts 1974 and 1976 in the Merseyside police force area. Corresponding figures for the second quarter of 1983 will be published in the next quarterly Bulletin at the end of this month.
