§ Mr. Farrasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will introduce legislation to require advertisers to disclose the country of origin of foreign goods offered for sale before sale is completed.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherMost direct sale advertisements for the wide range of consumer goods subject to the Trade Descriptions (Origin Marking) (Miscellaneous Goods) Order 1981 are already required to include country-of-origin information. I have no plans at present to extend the scope of the order.
