§ Mrs. ChalkerOn the basis of evidence given by the Department at the public inquiry held in 1979 and 1980, the estimated cost of the delay is of the order of £ 1½ million per annum but this is balanced to some extent by the benefits arising from other schemes to which trunk road funds were allocated instead.
