Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why the case of Mr. Mazhar Ali Khan, who was interviewed in connection with his application for asylum on 8th June 1981, has not yet been resolved, even though Lord Elton said in answer to a question on 2nd May, "I hope that we will be in a position to resolve these applications in the very near future".

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Elton)

Mr. Mazhar Ali Khan was recognised as a refugee under the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees on 1st July 1983. He has now been formally notified of this decision.
