§ 41. Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has any plans to improve the inner city programme resources in Birmingham.
§ Sir George YoungMy right hon. Friend has done so. The allocation to the Birmingham inner city partnership in 1983–84 is £24.1 million, an increase of 6 per cent. over 1982–83. In addition, eight urban development grant schemes to a total value of £46 million have been approved, attracting grant of £6.4 million. Allocations for future years will depend on the inner area programme agreed by the partnership as well as the quality of urban development grant applications and the availability of resources.
