HC Deb 05 July 1983 vol 45 c49W
Mr. Lawrence

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will make a statement on the implications of the judgment in the case of McColl v. Strathclyde regional council for his policy relating to the fluoridation of public water supplies;

(2) whether he is proposing to introduce legislation to make the artificial fluoridation of the public drinking water supply lawful.

Mr. John Patten

We are currently considering the implications of the Strathclyde fluoridation judgment which, as my hon. and learned Friend will be aware, is both long and complex.
