§ 18. Mr. John Carlisleasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he will obtain the results of his 1984 staffing survey; and how he will assess those results; and if he will make a statement.
§ Sir Keith JosephMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales and I expect first results from the survey to become available at the end of 1984. We shall assess them in the light of the policies set out in our recent White Paper "Teaching Quality" and in comparison with the results of a similar survey in 1977. In particular, the results will inform us about the match between teachers' training and their timetabled activities.
