§ Mr. Michael Forsythasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now make provision for private contractors employed by health authorities for ancillary operations to claim back value added tax.
§ Mr. Peter ReesIt remains the Government's firm intention to enable Government Departments and health authorities to claim refunds of value added tax on certain activities contracted out to the private sector. My right hon. Friend is considering when and how this should be done, and hopes to make an announcement soon.
