§ Mr. MayhewHer Majesty's Inspectors of Constabulary have no statutory responsibility for inspecting the Royal Ulster Constabulary. When requested, inspection of the RUC is normally carried out by Her Majesty's inspector of constabulary responsible for forces in north-west England, at the expense of the Northern Ireland authorities.
