§ Mr. Timothy Smithasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will announce the charge which will be payable for a prescription from 1 April.
§ Mr. FowlerThe prescription charge will be increased from £1.30 to £1.40 from 1 April 1983. The new charge is the minimum needed to take account of the increase in the cost of the pharmaceutical services. The annual and four-monthly rates for pre-payment certificates will raise proportionately from £20 and £7 to £21.50 and £7.50 respectively at the same time.
