§ Mr. HurdThe average time now being taken to process passport applications which are in order is about a week. An Egyptian-born husband of a British national resident in the United Kingdom would not have acquired British nationality automatically through marriage and would thus not be eligible to have a British passport unless and until he had become naturalised.
