§ Mr. StanleyThe Government's response to the report of the Select Committee on the environment on the private rented housing sector stresses the value of shorthold to that sector. The Government's free booklet, "Shorthold Tenancies", is widely available and was featured in national press advertisements of the Department's housing booklets in September and October last year.
The shorthold scheme itself was featured in national press advertisements when the Housing Act came into force at the end of 1980.
