§ Sir Geoffrey HoweOutput per head indices incorporating revisions to employment, and from which the growth estimates requested can be derived, will be published in the February 1983 issue ofEmployment Gazette.
Although the labour force survey results for 1981, released early in December 1982, suggested some upward revisions to estimates of the employed labour force, a definitive time series is not yet available. Revised figures for employees in employment, from September 1978 onwards, were published on 30 December 1982 but estimates of the total employed labour force are liable to further revision in February 1983, when new estimates of the self-employed become available.
