§ Mr. Parryasked the Minister for Trade what recent steps Her Majesty's Government have taken to encourage trade between the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
§ Mr. Peter Rees[pursuant to the reply 25 January 1983, c. 361.]: I visited Hong Kong from 5 to 7 January 1983 for discussions with the Hong Kong Government and with business leaders aimed at promoting trade between the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, which is now our biggest export market in the Far East. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Industry also visited Hong Kong during the course of this month. Extensive Government help is available to British companies wishing to sell to 480W Hong Kong, including the services of the British trade commission in Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong trade advisory group, credit facilities supported by the Export Credits Guarantee Department and the export services of the British Overseas Trade Board.
