§ Mr. Colin Shepherdasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he expects to make a decision on the future of Tadworth Court hospital by the end of January 1983.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeMy officials have agreed with the Spastics Society that we need further details of the charities' proposal and I must receive and evaluate that information before a decision is made. As a result I am unlikely to be able to reach a decision before the end of January, but I am anxious to resolve doubt as soon as possible.
In the meantime I have made a further £200,000 available to the board of governors of the hospitals for sick children to enable them to maintain services at existing levels for the remainder of the current financial year.
