§ Mr. Peter ReesThe Community reply to the Argentine response to the EC joint approach was conveyed to the Argentine charge d'affaires in Brussels on 21 December.
It makes clear that the Community is ready to hold discussions with the Argentine aimed at restoring normal economic and commercial relations on a reciprocal basis. This would include, in particular, the reciprocal lifting of the mutual import ban affecting trade between the United Kingdom and the Argentine and the removal of all restrictive measures still in force against United Kingdom companies operating in the Argentine.
The Argentine response is awaited.
