§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will introduce legislation to provide for the repayment of rates which have been paid on the basis of an erroneous rateable value, for a period going back prior to 1 April of that year in which the reassessment of rateable value was made.
§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsRating legislation already provides for repayment of rates in certain circumstances for rate periods prior to the 1 April of the year in which the proposal for a reassessment of rateable value is made. If the hon. Member has a case in mind, I would be pleased to offer further advice on receipt of more detailed information.
